Cayman's Medicinal Plants

Long before the introduction of modern medicine, doctors or hospitals for all native Caymanians nature was our medicine cabinet with treatments for a range of ailments.
 

Although some Caymanians still utilized some of these herbal remedies of days gone by sadly much of this 'bush medicine' knowledge is being lost with the passing of our older generations. Now a days the 'younger generations' are more willing to rely on the modern way of treatment of what ales them.

 

Recognizing this, we have decided create a small section of our farm dedicated to preserving this fading knowledge for future generations.

 

We have spent several months collecting as many of these 'old time' remedy plants as we could possibly find, repotted and labeled them so that anyone interested can come and learn.
